Bridge Summit Abu Dhabi reminded me that leadership doesn’t happen from the sidelines. It happens when you show up.

Walking into ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre), that is one of the Middle East’s most influential global event hubs, you could feel the momentum immediately.

It was buzzing with energy, and I made it just in time to experience the final two days of Bridge Summit.

Although I was jet lagged from 13+ hours of travel from Atlanta and dealing with the 9 hour time zone difference, purpose reminded me of a simple truth: there’s a blessing in showing up. I didn’t fly all that distance to miss the largest media event. It was important that I experienced it in great detail.

Thankfully, there were several cafes on site. I enjoyed my morning brew and satisfied my sweet tooth with a chocolate frosted donut. I know, don’t judge me please 😀

From the stages to the networking halls, the event offered insights and inspiration. Priyanka Chopra’s fireside chat was interesting and I enjoyed every moment.

Gary Vaynerchuk reinforced a lesson I live by: attention is currency.

One key takeaway affirmed what I’ve known for years: pivoting isn’t always about courage. Sometimes it is out of necessity, and due to adversity.

You have heard, necessity is the mother of invention.

Beyond the sessions, the real magic happened in connections. I reconnected with incredible women I had previously met at other events in Dubai, and further expanded my circle of influence.

Even the tech moments (like meeting a friendly robot) reminded me that innovation isn’t just on stage; it’s in every interaction and if you move around, you will see it.

“Presence” is a strategic advantage

Just moments after recording a quick Instagram clip sharing our Bridge Summit takeaways, a UAE TV crew approached our group and asked us to share a few words on national TV! That’s enough proof that showing up creates opportunities you just can’t predict; being ready in and out of season is essential for your elevation.

We didn’t have to prep because we were ready!

It is very important to be intentionally present, and strategically visible when you attend events like Bridge Summit. Interactive moments become opportunities for learning, growth, and influence.

It was great experience and I am glad I was present in the room.
