Change is relevant. Change can frustrate or elevate. We have a choice.
Trim what does not serve your purpose.
Many years ago I shared a story about my experience at a hair salon in my old stomping ground in East London.
Whenever I went to the hairstylist at that very beautiful hair salon, (especially when I knew that I needed a trim), I would become nervous.
Something caused that – I didn’t like the idea that my hair length would look shorter than how I wanted it.
I wanted my hair to be a certain way and it had to be that way. I was convinced that the hairstylist loved to cut hair and I wasn’t ready for that in any way.
Yet, I still watchfully let her trim my hair, but insisted she only trimmed a tiny bit off.
I was determined to salvage what wasn’t needed.
However, despite my fear and concerns, the trim was necessary, my hair grew healthily and looked good.
What do you need to trim in your life for growth to happen?
- Are you holding on to what must go in your life?
- Are you holding on to things or relationships that are detrimental to your elevation?
Human beings are scared of change, no matter how small it is.
John 15:2 says: “He prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.”
Pruning is essential for relevance and impact.
Change is a necessity. Change is constant, big or small.
