Don’t ignore the depressive signs and suicidal actions.
In the last week, I have heard of two people who committed suicide, one in London and a preacher in Atlanta. Ofcourse, you heard about the much loved and adorable Robin WIlliams. It broke my heart to hear the tragic news.
Suicide is not the solution to a temporary problem. YES, whatever you, your child, relative, friend or colleague is dealing with is TEMPORARY. Troubles appear but won’t last forever. Your problem has a solution.
I have been saying this for a while now = > this is where the rubber meets the road – are you doing enough to reach out to people (even if you think they act okay)?
Don’t just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing. – Philippians 2:4
Stress and life issues can make people feel unloved, that he or she is a failure, that there’s no way out. And family members make it worse with expectations and pressure.
You may not like this but some Christians are very good at masking depression including ministers of the Gospel. The pressure to respond to everyone’s needs and to ignore the fact that they are human too is real.
Irrespective of the person’s position or status, you can help. To help, sometimes your words won’t be enough. A visit helps. Just being there can turn a sad and potentially tragic situation around.
DON’T IGNORE THE SIGNS. Do your part and God will do the rest.
Don’t just read this post and walk away. Please post your comments below. I want to hear from you.
