How to Declutter Your Life

It’s changing of the guards time and the greatness you desire will not happen if you fail to act.

After our Watchnight service at church (and after we crossed over into the new year), I was pretty excited but physically tired. I had made joyful noise and thanked my God for my life and family, and led the congregation into the new year.

However, there was something I needed to do this new year (and immediately too): PURGE —> purposefully unleash me from toxic relationships, naysayers, gossips and anyone that is not going in my direction.

[START WITH YOUR PHONE CONTACTS]

So, I turned on my phone, went to my contact list and started the “process of elimination.” I saw some names that should have been removed ages ago. I saw some people the Holy Spirit warned me of many times in dreams. I thought: “Wow! Why is this person still in my contact list?”

The process of decluttering stuff and relationships that have been holding you back and preventing you from fulfilling your destiny begins with what you allow into your spirit via the airwaves.

To get to your best level, you have to be BOLD and take some very important steps. This involves doing what you didn’t think you could do and COMPLETELY trust in God.

Take a look at your “friends” list.
Who is still there that shouldn’t be there? Who’s in your inner circle? Who did you allow into your life that has done nothing but wreak havoc, backbite, hurt or cause trouble for you?

One lesson I’ve learned over the years is: You can help people but you will encounter those who do not want your help. Some people are chronic grumblers, whiners and pessimists. They often come to you for help but refuse to implement the helpful strategy you give them. They repeatedly complain and never take action. Don’t allow anyone to mess up your year and life.

On that note, how often do you want to hear non-stop complaints and grumbling? How many more years of your life that you can’t get back will you give to people who refuse to help themselves? Some people may tag you selfish for finally being decisive about your life but at the end of the day, this life you have is not a dress rehearsal. This is it.

Have you started your own ‘process of elimination’ [purposefully decluttering your life] yet?
