Two Best Ways to Increase Staff Productivity

how to increase workplace productivity

Are you having issues with staff productivity?

If yes, you have come to the right place. When you run an organization with minimal profitable results and low staff morale, it’s time to take drastic measures.

What do I mean?
Do you know that you can have unproductive highly skilled staff? YES! These are ‘all the bells and whistles individuals’ who produce no results. Spend some time looking into what your “high caliber at the top of corporate ladder” staff are doing.

Often, you will discover that the lack of motivation is a result of a bad work relationship with another colleague or direct manager. In some situations, personal issues have a huge effect on work productivity. Obviously you don’t want to pry or cross labor relations lines, but pay attention.

Profitability and productivity trickle from the top. How do you or they relate to other staff? Unapproachable, nasty, rude and condescending? Do they procrastinate?

1. Become an undercover manager.

Retail stores have mystery shoppers, so what’s wrong with having a mystery analyst or mystery project manager?

I love the show, Undercover Boss. Every CEO needs to watch it so you see what’s going on. The people who work for you are human beings and have families. When you treat them like dirt, don’t expect them to do their jobs properly. They will just see it as a “job” – a means to an end. When something better comes along, they quit.

For your business to be productive, you have to boost staff morale.

2. Motivate.

To know how to increase staff productivity is pretty straightforward but often overlooked. It’s imperative to find simple ways to boost staff morale and it doesn’t have to cost much. Small changes matter. Think. Empower your staff to be the best. Give them the tools they need to work better, smarter and easier. Don’t frustrate them. 🙂

If you implement these changes and issues still arise, then do you, your company and colleagues a favor, and take the appropriate action. At the end of the day, minimal productivity = minimal income = can’t pay salaries = retrenchment.
