2 Lessons from American Ninja

April 9, 2014 Belinda Enoma Leave a Comment

As a kid, I watched the movie, American Ninja.

What amazed me about the movie and sequels was the style of the Ninjas: they would sneak in with their dark attires in broad daylight or in the dark and appear without any warning but Joe, the American Ninja, (played by Michael Dudikoff) was always prepared.

You couldn’t catch him unawares. He knew their moves, he knew the way they acted, he knew their style and modus operandi. Their mission wasn’t to come and play, have fun or eat cake and coffee but to kill and destroy.

It’s the same thing with the enemy – he is very skilled at appearing when you least expect it but you have to be ready for battle at all times. His mission isn’t to come and dance with you and eat cake and coffee but to steal, kill and destroy.

1. Don’t be caught unawares.
Don’t leave any door open for the enemy to enter your house or where you lay your head to sleep.

2. The Word, prayer and sanctified common sense will help.
Be prepared. Sleep and rest are good for your body but if you are sleeping too much, wake up! Stay alert (1 Corinthians 16:13).

Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. – 1 Peter 5:18 MSG

Question: Did you watch any of the American Ninja movies? Which one did you see?
