It was the 89th Annual Academy Awards celebration.
I did not watch it last year.
I decided to watch it this year.
Some of my favorites were nominees and I was looking forward to Viola Davis winning and she did. Hallelujah!
Her speech was exhilarating and she earned it. When you see someone who works hard to portray a character and brings it to life, it is amazing and should be commended.

When I saw her on the red carpet with her husband, I was very impressed. It is always a blessing to see the spouses, destiny partners, family [the pillars of support] of people who are making things happen.
The lessons from the snafu are in this audio below. Click to listen, read them below and do share with your audience via Twitter and Facebook.
1. Learn to be gracious.
The La La Land people had already started the acceptance speeches, giving thanks and dedicating the win to their family and suddenly, they were told the original winner is Moonlight!
Initially I thought it was a joke. I thought Jimmy Kimmel was playing a prank, but then I thought, “but Warren Beaty wouldn’t do that, right?”
The graciousness of La La Land’s producer Jordan Horowitz was amazing. As soon as they knew, they immediately handed over to the original winners.

2. Don’t be in a hurry to leave.
As the host of life-changing events, sometimes I see speakers who do not attend the conference from the beginning but only appear for their time slots and vanish immediately afterwards.
Do you know that another speaker at the event may just have the solution to your problem but because you failed to attend at the beginning, you may just miss the blessing!
So, what has this got to do with the Oscars?
Let’s assume that disappointed nominees walked out due to frustration of not winning. What if the Moonlight people walked out and did not stay till the end? It was first announced that the Oscar went to La La Land but at the end, it was Moonlight that was the original winner.
What if what is yours actually becomes yours because you stayed till the end? Think about it.
3. What is yours will eventually become yours.
There was an error and it was rectified at the end. Whatever God has ordained for you will be released to you.
I must add that all the parties involved put in hard work. La La land people worked hard. Moonlight people worked hard.
However, the path to destiny has already been ordained from time immemorial. It takes action, backed by faith and persistence to get to where you ought to be.
To all the nominees and winners, congratulations!
