life lesson in faith walk

This is a guest post by Shannon Walker, motivational speaker, author, marketing and branding specialist. She has just released her new book, Learning Life’s Lessons – a story about a young woman who overcomes the trials and tribulations put in her life. She resides in Atlanta, Georgia. You can follow her on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn.

People often comment on my faith: “You’re so strong and have such strong faith.” However, this has not always been the case. My faith or strength wasn’t something I was born with. It actually took me quite a while to get to the place I am now and even so, I struggle. It is and always will be a process.

I have learned over time that learning yourself, learning people, and learning God is a true journey, and that is why I share these three life lessons in my faith walk with you.

1. Something new can be learned to develop yourself and your relationships daily.
Your talent or relationship with anyone grows. Lasting relationships are not an overnight project, they are a lifelong process.

2. The values and morals learned through your relationship with God can be applied as a guide to your relationships with people.
The relationship of you and your Father is the epitome of a perfect relationship. Many people do not know a perfect relationship so they cannot understand it. They have nothing to compare it to, which I have found is how many understand things. They compare it to something they can understand.

3. Your relationship with God is something you must build.
You must put in effort and you must be patient. You must learn of him and his ways and then will know what to expect and how to trust him.

God wants our absolute best. His ways are not like ours, they are much higher. So I implore you to learn more about God. I promise it will only make you better.
