What Does Trimming Split Ends Have To Do With Your Destiny?

March 12, 2018 Belinda Enoma 8 Comments

Dear ladies (and gentlemen), this is not your typical hair story. This is about how trimming your split ends is connected to your destiny, life and business elevation.

Here’s a little background story about trimming your split ends.
The reason why we trim split ends from our hair is for healthy hair and growth. If you like long hair, you may be very nervous as the hair is trimmed. You may not even trust your hair stylist to not chop off all your hair.

I know because back in the day in London, I would get nervous whenever my stylist in Dalston (East London) wanted to trim my hair. Somehow, I was convinced that the people in that hair salon just loved “chopping hair” and I would not be a victim.

Yet, I kept going there because they did excellent work. Whenever the scissors came out, I would say: “Just a little please. Do not chop off me hair.”

I would watch the stylist’s every move like a mother hen trying to protect her chicks.

I knew that I needed a trim but I wasn’t ready, yet everyone always said after the finished work: “Your hair is representing! Beautiful hair.”

Isn’t it like us humans to fear change, even if it is a little shift from the norm?

Just like the hair story, it is necessary to trim “split ends” from your life so that you can grow and fulfill your destiny. It can be a nervous process because you don’t know what will happen afterwards. However to grow and to be at your best and destined level, some things (including personal, business and ministry relationships) must go.

What has become a stumbling block in your life?
What do you need to trim? Is it a relationship? Is it a behavioral issue? What is preventing your growth? I am reminded of the Scripture in John 15:2 that says:

“He prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.”

Pruning is an essential part of your destiny elevation. It’s time to trim the split ends so you can shine the way you were meant to shine, produce more fruit and make the impact you were created to make.

Amen. This is a very insightful spiritual perspective of how positive growth can take place in our lives. There will be no real growth in us unless we intentionally trim off split ends from our lives. The process of trimming off split ends may appear to be unpleasant, but it will be worthwhile in the long run.

    Thank you.

Very interesting topic and wonderfully illustrated how it relates to our life and some of the things we can do to trim our life and excel in the areas we were born to excel in.

You could have given more examples on how beneficial it is to trim back.

But a very captivating article, thanks for writing.

Change can be scary but it is necessary for personal growth. When change is necessary not changing may be destructive. Trimming off those split ends is a great analogy. When those split ends aren’t trimmed the split hairs continue up the hair shaft causing more damage. So yes let’s not fear change embrace it.

Absolutely. Yes, when unattended, it causes more damage. If we want to get to our destined elevation level, we must tell fear where to go. Thank you for stopping by. 🙂
