Distractions coupled with procrastination hurt creativity and productivity.
Once upon a time, someone reached out to me to collaborate on a project. The person looked “perfect” on social media but after having multiple conversations, I observed that the person was unreliable, disorganized and was unbothered about procrastination.
What did I do? I declined and moved on.
I knew that if I had proceeded with the collaboration, I would be frustrated and attached to procrastination which would result in stagnation.
The reason why you have several unfinished tasks is because you constantly collaborate with folks who do not finish anything.
Do you want to finish your project?
Be true to yourself. If it doesn’t align, don’t accept.
Write down the answers to these questions (and after you have written them, ask yourself if you can thrive with the results).
- Who are you working with?
- Who is on your team?
- Who is in your inner circle?
- What are the pros and cons of having such team members?
- What can you improve?
- What can you not improve?
It’s time to ponder your collaboration, make the right decisions so that you can achieve your goals.
